Our Mission
At LGBTQ Senior Housing, our mission is:
To facilitate access to welcoming, safe and affordable housing for low-income LGBTQ seniors, including through a formal role in the development of such housing
To define onsite housing services and programming that addresses the needs of LGBTQ seniors
To support community space that serve seniors in the Greater Boston community.
The Pryde - Our First Community
The Pryde is the first LGBTQ affirming income restricted senior housing development in New England. With the success of this project, we are addressing both the need for welcoming and affordable housing and services that are intentionally LGBTQ-affirming. The Pryde opened its doors to residents in June 2024.
Beyond the establishment of this first community, we will continue to explore opportunities to develop additional sites as well as partner with other organizations to help make other senior housing LGBTQ-affirming, as we believe that all senior housing should be welcoming and safe for LGBTQ seniors.
